Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito 1 - Yokuryuu wa Maiorita

Synopsis

In a war-torn 2017 Europe, the Holy Britannian Empire's invasion forces clash with European armies. To counter the overwhelming enemy and minimize losses, a special unit known as W-0, or Wyvern, is formed. This unit comprises young individuals of Japanese descent, recruited from impoverished areas, who pilot advanced humanoid war machines called Knightmares. They undertake perilous missions, facing constant danger in hopes of achieving recognition. During a critical operation to rescue a beleaguered European regiment, Lieutenant Akito Hyuuga, a skilled pilot nicknamed "Hannibal's Ghost," is among those deployed. The mission takes a dire turn when the commanding officer triggers a Knightmare's self-destruct sequence in a desperate attempt to inflict maximum damage. Akito emerges as the sole survivor of the devastating aftermath.
