Uchuu Senkan Yamato
宇宙戦艦ヤマト
Synopsis
In the year 2199, Earth's surface is devastated by the Gamilas Empire, forcing humanity underground as lethal radiation encroaches. With extinction looming, a desperate plea from the planet Iscandar offers a chance for survival. Earth's Self Defense Force develops a faster-than-light engine, refitting the World War II battleship Yamato into a space-faring vessel. A courageous crew embarks on a perilous interstellar voyage aboard the Space Battleship Yamato, carrying advanced weaponry and the hopes of the human race to Iscandar, seeking a way to save their dying world.
