Hakuouki: Reimeiroku

Synopsis

After a brutal betrayal leaves him destitute, Ryuunosuke Ibuki is offered a new life as an assistant to the powerful Kamo Serizawa. This position, however, reduces him to a mere subordinate in Serizawa's influential circle. Concurrently, the shogunate dispatches the Roshigumi, led by Isami Kondou, to quell rising ronin violence in Kyoto. Lacking political influence, Kondou reluctantly partners with the proud Serizawa and his network for support. Drawn into the Roshigumi's affairs despite his disdain for samurai, Ibuki begins to question his preconceptions as he witnesses the honor among Kondou's men. This narrative delves into the nascent stages of the Shinsengumi's formation amidst Kyoto's escalating political unrest and pervasive uncertainty.
